How do we achieve "oil-free" operation? Core Technology Principles
Oil-free compressors do not eliminate the need for lubrication. Instead, they achieve an "oil-free" compression chamber through one of two primary methods:
Physical isolation and self-lubricating materials
Coating technology: Low-friction, highly wear-resistant Teflon or carbon composite coatings are applied to the piston, cylinder wall, or scroll disk in the compression chamber. These coatings are inherently lubricating, eliminating the need for additional oil.
Labyrinth seals: In high-speed centrifugal compressors, precise, non-contact labyrinth seals are used to achieve zero-contact operation between the rotor and stator.

Water replaces oil as the lubricating and cooling medium.
