What is PTC technology?
PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) technology refers to positive temperature coefficient thermistor material technology. When the temperature of the PTC material increases after being energized, its resistance will increase significantly, thereby reducing the current flow and realizing the function of self-regulating temperature. This characteristic makes PTC technology widely used in the field of electric heaters, especially suitable for new energy vehicles.
Working principle of PTC electric heater
Principle of resistance heating: After the PTC ceramic element inside the PTC electric heater is energized, the electrical energy is converted into heat energy. After the temperature rises, the resistance increases, and finally reaches an equilibrium state to maintain a constant temperature.
Automatic temperature adjustment: As the temperature rises, the resistance of the PTC material increases sharply, the current decreases, and the heating power decreases to prevent overheating. This feature enables the PTC heater to have a self-regulating function, eliminating the need for a complex temperature control system.
