The valve is driven by a motor or electromagnetic coil. By changing the position of the valve core, it precisely controls the flow direction and flow distribution of fluid (coolant or refrigerant). It is the core actuator of the vehicle thermal management system to achieve multi-functional and high-efficiency operation.

Working Principle
Core Function: Flow diversion or merging. It has one inlet and two outlets (A, B ports) or two inlets and one outlet.
Control Methods:
Proportional Regulation Type: Typically driven by a stepper motor, it can precisely and continuously adjust the valve core angle, thereby steplessly regulating the flow ratio to port A and port B (e.g., from 100:0 to 0:100).
On/Off Switching Type: Typically driven by an electromagnetic coil, the valve core has only two or three fixed positions (e.g., all A, all B, or half A/half B), used for path switching.

★It is recommended to install rubber shock-absorbing pads at the bottom of the two M6 connection mounting holes, with a hardness of HA70~80.

The electric three-way valve is primarily used in the coolant circuit for precise heat distribution.
Battery and cabin heat distribution: In winter, it dynamically distributes heat generated by the PTC or heat pump to the battery pack (for heating) and the cabin heater core (for warmth) as needed.
Heat source selection: In hybrid/range-extended vehicles, it selects whether the heat comes from engine waste heat, the PTC heater, or the heat pump.
Cooling path selection: It directs heat from the battery or electric drive system that needs cooling to the low-temperature radiator or the chiller coupled to the air conditioning system.
Simple analogy: Like an adjustable faucet diverter, it determines whether hot water flows to the bathroom or the kitchen, and how much to distribute to each.
