Cleaning method of RV air-conditioning filter
In order to ensure the normal and effective operation of the air conditioner in the motorhome, clean the air conditioner filter frequently. Air conditioner filters with excessive dust and dirt will reduce the cooling capacity and efficiency of the air conditioner. The filter is located in the motorhome, under the wind panel on the air conditioning unit.
Maintenance measures: Most RV air-conditioning filters must be carefully and thoroughly rinsed in warm water. They need to be air-dried before putting them back. If the filter is torn or dirty, you should replace the RV air-conditioning filter. Check and clean the filters in sequence at least monthly. After removing the filter of most RV air conditioning units, you can see the evaporator coil inside. Use a flashlight to check these coils for any dirt or debris. If so, use a very flexible vacuum cleaner attachment to carefully remove dust and dirt. If you are willing to climb on the roof of your RV, you should also clean the external condenser coil on the air conditioner. This requires removing the protective cover on the air conditioner, which is usually nailed to it with a few screws. After removing the shield, you can use compressed air to blow out debris that may be trapped in the condenser coil. Remember to blow the air from the inside out (that's why the shield is removed). Such treatment should be carried out at least once a year.
