PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) Positive temperature coefficient, which means that the higher the temperature, the greater the resistance, showing a positive correlation. At present, this is what is used in most cars. It is more convenient to directly use the battery on the car to provide power for heating.
For pure electric vehicles, the battery on the car is a high-voltage battery, and the electric heater generally also chooses high voltage, because the voltage is high and the efficiency is high, and the same electric energy can be converted into heat energy more.
According to the working mode of the electric heater, it can also be divided into direct heating of air and indirect heating of air by heating water. The principle of directly heating air is the same as that of an electric hair dryer, while the water heating type is closer to the form of heating.
Due to the limited discharge capacity of the battery when starting at low temperature in winter, battery preheating technology has also been adopted by many car companies. At present, the most widely used PTC is to use the water heating type PTC. The switch can choose whether to perform a large cycle of common heating of the cabin and the battery or a small cycle of one of the individual heating.
