With the gradual expansion of the new energy vehicle market, the scope, implementation and components of thermal management have undergone great changes. New cars, new thermal management systems, and new components have correspondingly brought a larger market for the thermal management industry.
For traditional vehicle thermal management system, it includes power system thermal management (engine, transmission) and cockpit air conditioning system; for new energy vehicle thermal management, it includes battery thermal management, automotive air conditioning system, electric drive and electronic power component cooling system. Compared with traditional vehicle thermal management systems, new energy vehicles mainly add battery thermal management, vehicle air conditioning system heating, electric drive and electronic power components cooling.
With the gradual rise of the new energy market, electrification upgrades have brought a larger pure incremental market to new components. Some types of parts and components used in the thermal management scheme of new energy vehicles bring certain changes with the addition of new systems. New electric vehicle components, including electric compressors, PTC heaters, electronic expansion valves, battery coolers, and electronic water pumps, have a large incremental market.
PTC heater: Electric vehicles cannot use engine waste heat as a stable heat source, and additional heat source is required for cockpit air-conditioning heating. PTC heater is the first mainstream solution. For heat pump systems with higher conversion efficiency, PTC heaters are usually added as auxiliary heat sources.
Electric compressor: The power source of an electric vehicle becomes a power battery and an electric compressor is required.
Electronic expansion valve: It consists of three parts: controller, actuator and sensor.
Battery cooler: It consists of a heat exchange body and an external evaporator, and its main function is to introduce refrigerant to absorb the heat of the coolant in the battery cooling conduit.
Electronic water pump: realize the adjustability and accuracy of liquid transmission with electronic integrated system.
