NF Group's oil-free scroll air-cooled electric air compressor is a core air supply component for the braking system of new energy commercial vehicles. It is designed specifically for engine-less models such as pure electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, replacing the air compressor driven by the engine in traditional fuel vehicles.

Working principle: A pair of meshing involute scroll disks is used. The moving disk rotates in a planar motion driven by an eccentric shaft, forming multiple crescent-shaped compression chambers that gradually decrease in size from the outside to the inside between the moving disk and the stationary disk. Air enters from the outer intake port and is continuously pushed towards the central compression chamber as the moving disk rotates, its volume continuously shrinking and its pressure increasing, finally being discharged from the central exhaust port. The entire process is continuous and stable with minimal airflow pulsation.

No lubricating oil is used in the compression chamber. A self-lubricating and wear-resistant coating (such as a PTFE-based composite material) is used between the moving and stationary discs to achieve sealing and friction reduction. The output compressed air is clean and free of oil mist, avoiding oil and water contamination of brake valves, dryers, and air circuits, extending the life of downstream components, and eliminating the need for oil-air separation and regular oil changes.

Air-cooled heat dissipation: Relying on a cooling fan driven by the motor or an external heat dissipation duct, the heat from compression and the motor is directly dissipated into the ambient air through the heat dissipation fins on the outer casing. No coolant circuit is required, resulting in a simple structure and flexible installation, making it particularly suitable for the compact chassis layout of commercial vehicles.

 

It mainly provides clean compressed air for the pneumatic braking systems of new energy buses, logistics vehicles, and heavy trucks, and also serves as an auxiliary air source for air suspension seats, door opening and closing, horns, etc.
