Products Description

An electric bus electronic water pump designed for reliable coolant circulation in electric bus thermal management systems. Driven by a high-efficiency brushless DC motor, it provides stable cooling for battery packs, electric motors, power electronics, and auxiliary cooling circuits. With CAN bus speed control, IP67 protection, and a rated service life of ≥20,000 hours, the pump is engineered for continuous operation in demanding commercial vehicle applications.

Our unique advantages

product-1500-1500 product-1500-1500

1. Full CAN-Bus Intelligence, Not Just a Pump

Real-time speed control and status feedback over CAN (500kbps) - the vehicle controller can adjust flow to match actual thermal load instead of running at a fixed rate, and gets live feedback on speed, current, voltage, and fault status. Most competitor pumps are open-loop with no diagnostic visibility.

2. Seven-Layer Self-Protection Built Into the Controller

Reverse polarity, overvoltage, undervoltage, locked rotor, dry-run, overtemperature, and overcurrent protection are all handled onboard - the pump detects the fault, reports it over CAN, and auto-recovers once conditions normalize (e.g., automatic retry after locked-rotor or overcurrent events, up to 50 attempts before safe shutdown). This directly reduces fleet downtime and field service calls.

3. Engineered for the Electric Bus Duty Cycle, Not Just Passenger EVs

Wide operating voltage range (18V–32V) and a -40°C to 125°C operating window cover the voltage sag and thermal extremes typical of commercial fleet operation - and the published Q-H curve across 7 duty-cycle points (21%–100%) lets engineers size the pump against actual battery/engine cooling load instead of guessing from a single rated-flow number.

4. Built for the ≥20,000-Hour Fleet Lifecycle

IP67 sealing with a 350KPa/5s pressure test (≤80Pa leakage) and a ≥20,000-hour rated life are validated to the duty cycle a transit fleet actually runs, not a passenger-car benchmark - lower total cost of ownership over the vehicle's service life.

Application Scenarios

Designed for coolant circulation in electric bus thermal management systems:

Battery Pack Cooling - circulates coolant through battery thermal management systems to help maintain stable battery temperature under different operating and charging conditions.

Electric Motor Cooling - provides continuous coolant circulation for traction motors, helping control operating temperatures during high-load or long-duration driving.

Power Electronics Cooling - supports thermal management of inverters, controllers, DC-DC converters, and other high-power electronic components.

Cabin Heating and Cooling Systems - supplies coolant circulation for electric bus HVAC and auxiliary heating systems, supporting passenger comfort in different climates.

Auxiliary Thermal Management Circuits - serves independent or integrated cooling loops for onboard electrical and thermal management components.

With CAN-based speed control, the electric bus electronic water pump can adjust coolant flow according to real-time thermal demand, helping improve cooling efficiency while reducing unnecessary power consumption.

Structure & Working Principle

Brushless DC motor - rotor assembly (impeller) + stator housing (containment sleeve, rear bearing housing)

Controller (PCB assembly) - communicates with the vehicle's main controller and drives the brushless motor

Pump cover - interfaces with the vehicle body, engine, and cooling circuit

Motor rear cover - includes the wiring harness for vehicle-side connection

Installation Guide

Pump must be mounted with the axis horizontal, away from high-temperature zones, in a location with good airflow and close to the radiator/coolant tank to minimize inlet resistance

  • Mounting height should be >500mm from the ground, at roughly the lower 1/4 point of the coolant tank's total height
  • Inlet centerline: keep within -5° to +5° of horizontal
  • Outlet centerline: keep within 5° to +90° of horizontal

Confirm exact mounting configuration with technical engineers before final installation

FAQ

Q: Why is the pump not working?

A: Check for debris jamming the rotor, a damaged control board, or a loose power connection - verify the connector is fully seated.

Q: Why is the pump noisy during operation?

A: Common causes are debris inside the pump, trapped air (mount with the outlet facing up to purge air), or the pump running dry - ensure the pump body stays filled with coolant.

Q: Can the pump run with the outlet valve closed?

A: No - continuous operation with the outlet closed can cause the coolant to vaporize inside the pump body. When shutting down, never close the inlet valve before stopping the pump.

Q: What happens if the pump runs without coolant?

A: Extended dry-running causes lubrication loss inside the pump, accelerating wear and shortening service life. Avoid prolonged dry operation.

Q: What fluid contamination level is acceptable?

A: The coolant must not contain particles or magnetically conductive debris larger than 0.35mm, or the pump may seize or suffer abrasive wear.
