The electric power steering system (EHPS) is the core of modern automotive steering technology. It generates steering assistance by directly driving a hydraulic pump with an electric motor, replacing the traditional engine-driven belt.
System Composition and Principle:
The system primarily consists of an electronic control unit (ECU), a DC motor, a hydraulic pump, and a steering sensor. When the driver turns the steering wheel, the sensor detects the steering signal. The ECU calculates the required steering assistance in real time, precisely controls the motor speed, and drives the hydraulic pump to deliver the corresponding oil pressure, achieving smooth and flexible steering assistance.
