High-voltage film heaters are designed to replace the engine block as the primary heat source. They operate by supplying power to the thick-film heating element, generating heat. Through heat exchange, this heats the medium within the heating system's circulation lines.
Products Design
High-voltage film heaters consist of a thick-film heating element, a controller, and internal piping. The thick-film heating element is immersed in an integrated die-cast water channel, where coolant flows through the thick-film heating element, absorbing and circulating heat. The controller circuit board is mounted in the electrical enclosure, completely isolated from the water channel, and the connector connects directly to the circuit board.
Inlet and outlet size
Use M6 threaded hole (grounding), thread depth > 13mm.
Products Safety
The HVCH electric heater has a self-protection function. During normal operation, it monitors its operating status in real time and provides feedback to the vehicle controller via the CAN interface. If an abnormality is detected, timely protection measures can be implemented, such as automatically limiting the heating temperature and operating current.
The vehicle is responsible for monitoring the insulation condition of the HVCH electric heater.
Products application
Thick-film heaters are widely used in active heating systems in electric vehicles to address insufficient battery waste heat and meet the needs of passenger compartment heating, battery pack temperature control, and window defrosting and defogging. Their advantages include precise and repeatable heating control, high power density, high voltage resistance (up to 1500V), and higher operating temperatures, lower power loss, and longer service life than traditional PTC heaters. The flexibility of thick-film heaters makes them suitable for thermal management systems across a wide range of vehicle types and is expected to replace PTC heaters in mid- to high-end vehicles, becoming a mainstream technology in the future.
