EV Car Cooling 3 Way Water Valve

The electronic three-way valve, also known as the electronic three-way water valve, is the core electronic control actuator of the thermal management system of new energy vehicles. It replaces the mechanical thermostat of traditional fuel vehicles and uses electrical signals to precisely switch the coolant flow direction and distribute the water flow. It coordinates the hot and cold cycles of the battery, motor control, heat pump air conditioning, and defrosting system, and is a key component for realizing heat recovery and zoned temperature control of the whole vehicle.

3-way chilled coolant valves can be designed in diameters ranging from 16Øs to Ø25, requiring only changes to the pipe dimensions.

The Ø25 water valve allows for flow rate control from 5 L/MIN to 100 L/MIN.

Basic Structure

The whole machine consists of six parts: valve body flow channel, brushless drive motor, reduction gear set, rotary valve core, sealing assembly, and electrical control connector. It is equipped with three pipeline interfaces as standard, with the mainstream layout being one inlet and two outlets, which can realize three modes: water circuit diversion, loop switching, and proportional flow regulation.

Operating Principle

A 3-way chilled coolant valve regulates chilled water flow by redirecting rather than stopping flow, maintaining constant system pressure while modulating temperature.
