What is RV bottom air conditioner?

Using RVs or recreational vehicles for traveling has become increasingly popular around the world due to the convenience they offer, especially during the pandemic. RVs or campers are designed to offer travelers the comforts of home while traveling. To maintain this comfort, RV designs have evolved to include air conditioning systems, such as in bottom air conditioning.

Bottom air conditioning is an innovative design that has become popular with RVs for its efficiency and cooling power. This system differs from a standard rooftop air conditioner because it has a unique way of distributing cool air throughout the RV.

Bottom air conditioning works by directing cool air through ducts installed under the floor of the vehicle. The system draws air from outside the RV, cools it, and then directs it through ducts under the floor to provide cool air to the vehicle's occupants. In addition, this system is more efficient than rooftop air conditioning because the cool air is directed directly to the ground and rises, meaning it is more efficient and feels faster.

One of the important advantages of bottom air conditioning is that it offers enough space for the installation of other motorhomes. Since the roof of the motorhome does not have air conditioning, it can be used as a platform to install other equipment such as solar panels, antennas or even a rooftop to give passengers a complete outdoor experience.

Another advantage of bottom air conditioning is that it uses less electricity, which is an important factor in RVs because it runs on batteries or generators. Since the system is able to direct the air directly to the ground, it shortens the time needed to cool the motorhome, which reduces the energy consumption of the system.

However, the bottom air conditioning system also has some disadvantages. One disadvantage is the installation cost. As this is a new and innovative air conditioning system, its installation costs are higher than those of a traditional roof air conditioner. Another disadvantage is that the ducts that direct the cold air take up some storage space under the caravan, reducing its storage capacity.

In summary, underfloor heating is an innovative air conditioning system that has been rapidly adopted in motorhomes due to its efficiency and cooling power. The system offers many advantages, e.g. more space for other recreational vehicles, less energy consumption, while cooling the recreational vehicle faster and obtaining cold air more efficiently. However, installation costs and reduced storage capacity must be taken into account before deciding whether to use it in a motorhome.
