HV Heater Functional Control Principle
Introduction

The electric High Voltage Heater (HVH) is the ideal heating system for plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV). It converts DC electric power into heat with practically no losses.
Powerful similar to its namesake, this high-voltage heater is specialized for electric vehicles. By converting electrical energy of battery with DC voltage, ranging from 300 to 750v, into abundant heat, this device provides efficient, zero-emission warming-all throughout the interior of the vehicle.
The main functions of the integrated circuit water heating heater are:
-Control function: The heater control mode is power control and temperature control;
-Heating function: Electrical energy conversion to thermal energy;
-Interface function: Heating module and control module energy input, signal module input, grounding,water inlet and water outlet.
Functional Control Principle
Soft start
PTC is divided into 3 groups, and the power distribution is 5/10, 3/10, 2/10. PWM soft start mode, group soft start, each group starts in sequence, staggering the peak of the inrush current. There are 3 groups of IGBTs inside, the delay time between each group is 8-10S, and the soft start is completed
within 30 seconds.

The above picture is soft-start current change trend diagram
Power and temperature control
After the soft start is completed, the power is adjusted according to the gear requirements; when the set temperature is reached, the power is automatically adjusted and the temperature is controlled. Generally, the default is gear mode, which can be divided into six gears: 20%, 30%, 50%, 70%, 80%, and
100%. If the PWM mode is adopted, the power regulation is stepless regulation. Note: The use of PWM mode needs to be communicated in advance.
