Product Introduction
NFEHP series thermal management unit is a system used to cool/heat up thebattery pack of new energy vehicles.
During the driving or charging process of the vehicle, the temperature of the battery pack rises due to the external ambient temperature or the charging and discharging characteristics of the battery pack itself, resulting in the loss of the best working environment of the battery. The service object of this product is the water-cooled battery pack, through the control of water temperature, the battery pack in the battery pack works within a certain temperature range, so as to ensure the quality of the battery, prolong its service life, and ensure the cruising range of the vehicle.
Compared with the traditional heat dissipation method, this product has the characteristics of fast heat dissipation, high efficiency, stable temperature control, which can significantly improve battery performance and extend service life.
Operational Principle
The solid red line in the figure represents the refrigeration cycle, and the dashed blue line represents the coolant cycle. This unit has three modes,including cooling mode, heating mode, and self-circulation mode. The unit switches between these three modes based on the parameters feedback from the battery pack BMS.

Cooling mode:
The fan and compressor are turned on, and the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant is discharged from the compressor, entering the condenser for heat release and cooling. Then, it is throttled and depressurized through a thermal expansion valve for cooling. The low-pressure and low-temperature refrigerant enters the battery cooler and exchanges heat with the high-temperature coolant flowing out of the battery pack. The refrigerant absorbs heat and enters the compressor suction port, completing a refrigeration cycle. At the same time, the high-temperature coolant flowing out of the battery pack outlet passes through the water pump and flows through the chiller to obtain cooling, forming a low-temperature coolant that enters the battery pack inlet to cool the battery and complete a water circuit cycle.
The refrigeration mode is suitable for working conditions with high thermal load on the battery pack.
Heating mode:
The fan and compressor are turned off, the water pump and electric heater are turned on, and the low-temperature coolant is heated by the electric heater before flowing through the chiller and entering the battery pack to heat the battery.
Self-Circulation mode:
The compressor and electric heater are turned off, the water pump and fan are turned on, and the coolant circulates between the thermal management unit and the battery pack to remove the heat from the battery pack.
The self cycling mode is suitable for working conditions with low battery thermal load.
