The NFEHP series thermal management unit is a system used to heat or cool the battery pack of new energy vehicles.

 

BTMS stands for Battery Thermal Management System. It is a comprehensive temperature-control solution for the traction batteries of new energy vehicles, typically operating in conjunction with components such as electronic water pumps, PTC electric heaters, electronic three-way valves, integrated heating-and-cooling defrosters, liquid-cooling plates, and radiators. Its primary function is to maintain the battery temperature within the optimal operating range of 25°C to 40°C, thereby addressing three critical issues: overheating at high temperatures, performance degradation at low temperatures, and excessive temperature differentials.

 

 

 

 

The system comprises four main components: a liquid-cooling circulation loop, a heating unit, an electronic control and actuation unit, and a sensor and monitoring unit. Temperature sensors monitor the temperature of each battery cell string in real time; upon data transmission to the vehicle's Battery Management System (BMS), the system automatically issues commands. At high temperatures, it activates the electric water pump and switches the electronic three-way valve to route coolant through the radiator, dissipating heat from the battery via the cooling plate. At low temperatures, it shuts off the radiator circuit, activates the high-voltage PTC heater to warm the coolant, and circulates the heated fluid to raise the battery pack's temperature. If the temperature differential exceeds limits, the system employs balanced coolant circulation to minimize the temperature variance between cells. Additionally, the system can interface with the vehicle's HVAC system, utilizing waste heat from the heat pump to assist in battery thermal management and reduce energy consumption associated with electric heating.
