Battery Thermal Management System and PTC Heater
Common battery heating methods are divided into electric heating and water heating. Among them, electric heating mainly uses heating film, heating aluminum plate, heat pump and PTC, and water heating mainly uses the auxiliary heat of engine, motor, electric control, inverter, etc. to heat and keep warm the battery.
PTC is divided into air heating and water heating, and water heating is more effective and more costly. Compared with PTC, heat pumps have the advantage of higher system concentration rate and thermal efficiency, but the research and development of heat pumps is more difficult. At present, only two domestic models such as SAIC Roewe use heat pump technology to heat batteries.
The thermal management of the power battery is closely related to the vehicle's air-conditioning system, and many liquid cooling systems are shared with the vehicle's air-conditioning compressor. There are two commonly used methods for ordinary heating systems, one is to share the PTC with the air conditioner, and the other is to use a separate PTC or heat pump to supply heat to the battery.
The thermal management of new energy vehicles has greatly improved the value of single vehicles compared with traditional vehicles. Compared with traditional cars, the battery thermal management system is a newly added system, which will bring a new increase. In the future, as the battery capacity increases, the air-cooled mode mainly uses natural wind or a fan to cooperate with the car's own evaporator to power the battery. Cooling, simple structure, low value of bicycle, only need high value parts such as heater (PTC/heat pump).
